Product Description & Reviews
Okayti in Darjeeling, North East India, is a very special tea estate. First planted in the 1870s and among the very highest in the region at over 6,000ft, its picturesque, mist-enveloped slopes produce teas long recognised for their flavour and quality. The story goes that the name itself comes from a time when London tea auctioneers considered this 'the only OK tea'. Very young leaves and buds are picked in July and allowed to wither, which gives the tea a pleasant intensity. When infused the leaves give a deep golden, aromatic liquor with hints of hay and soft fruit;the flavour is floral and fruity with delicate muscatel notes.
